National
Association of Chemical Distributors
The National Association of Chemical Distributors (NACD), established in 1971, is an international association of chemical distributor companies that purchase and take title of chemical products from manufacturers. Member companies process, formulate, blend, re-package, warehouse, transport, and market these chemical products exclusively for an industrial customer base of approximately 750,000.
NACD's more than 250 member companies are located in every region of the country and operate more than 1,535 chemical distribution locations. NACD also has member companies in Canada and in Europe. Member companies are largely entrepreneurial and generally service a particular geographic region and specific industrial sector. They are typically small businesses, although some companies are national and international in scope. They know their products and processes, and provide value-added services to their customers in a professional, responsible manner.

Organic Chemical Manufactures Association
The Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association’s commitment to serving the batch, custom and specialty chemical industry dates back to its inception
in 1921.SOCMA’s original charter dedicated the organization to promoting high industry standards, building public awareness and working with government agencies to develop and improve the industry. While much has changed in the ensuing decades, SOCMA’s pledge to these principles has not changed.
Today, SOCMA serves as the voice of a membership operating more than 2,000 manufacturing sites and employing more than 100,000 workers. SOCMA members encompass every segment of the industry—from small specialty producers to large multinational corporations—and manufacture 50,000 products valued at $60
billion annually.SOCMA’s members play an indispensable role in the U.S. chemical industry by producing intermediates, specialty chemicals and ingredients used to develop a wide range of commercial and consumer products. These products save lives, improve standards of living and enable countless other industries and manufacturers to produce their goods.
SOCMA’s membership directs the organization’s agenda, strategy and activities. Through the efforts of its Board of Governors and issue committees, SOCMA supports the industry by developing programs that maximize commercial and networking opportunities, increase public confidence and influence the passage of rational laws and regulations allowing members to operate productively and be good corporate citizens.
Innovation and excellence are hallmarks of SOCMA’s history. SOCMA founded Informex®, which has since become the premier global marketplace for networking and doing business in the specialty, batch and custom chemical manufacturing industry. In 2005, SOCMA introduced ChemStewards®, the first environmental, health, safety and security program designed exclusively for the batch, custom and specialty chemical industry.
The Greater
Houston Partnership
The Greater Houston Partnership is the primary advocate of the Houston-area business community and is dedicated to building regional ecomomic prosperity. It represents 10 counties: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto and Waller. With more than 2,000 member organizations, the Partnership represents approximately one fourth of the region's workforce.
